Dr. Gianfranco Minati is a systems scientist, who switched from a position as an executive in a large industrial–financial Italian group (1979-1984) to research. Founder (1996)/president of the Italian Systems Society (AIRS) http://www.airs.it; member of the scientific committee of Conferences and Systems Societies; doctoral lecturer (2000-2017) at the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy; invited doctoral lecturer (2015-2022) at the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza", Facoltà di Architettura, Dipartimento Planning Design Technology of Architecture; president (2017-2018) of the EUS - UESEuropean Union for Systemics; editorial board member of the journal Systems; editor of the Springer Contemporary Systems Thinking book series; president of the 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2014, 2017, and 2023 international conferences of the Italian Systems Society; member of the scientific committee of systems conferences, societies, and research groups; author of 42 chapters in books; editor of 12 books; author or co-author of 16 books; author of 71 articles and of academic publications. His current research interest focuses on the artificial unconscious in AI, complex systems, Dynamic Usage of Models (DYSAM), emergence, logical openness, mathematics, mesoscopic coherence, meta-structures, multiple systems, quasi-systems, theoretical incompleteness, architecture as the design of structures to influence processes of emergence in social systems.
