Dr Andrew Gardiner is senior veterinary clinical lecturer at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. He completed his PhD studies in the history of science, technology and medicine at the University of Manchester. He has been awarded the Principal's Medal for Community at the University of Edinburgh for his work providing accessible veterinary care to the homeless community through the All4Paws outreach project, which he leads. He is a European veterinary specialist in animal welfare science, ethics and law and publishes and teaches in these areas and in veterinary education. His interests include veterinary history and humanities, animal welfare and veterinary general practice.
