Prof. Giovanni DI GUARDO, DVM., Dipl. ECVP, graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1982, cum laude, at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1995, he was appointed Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (Dipl. ECVP). From 2002 until 2021 he has served as an Associate Professor at the Veterinary Medical Faculty of the University of Teramo, Italy, where he has taught in the main course of General Pathology and Veterinary Pathophysiology. Since January 2021 he has officially retired from Academia. His main research interests include comparative neuropathology, with special emphasis on animal and human prion diseases, as well as on marine mammals' pathology. Prof. Di Guardo has authored/coauthored over 500 scientific works, 200 of which published in international, peer-reviewed Journals.
