Prof. Dr. Ognyan I. Petrov serves at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Applied Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Sofia, Bulgaria. He received his PhD degree from the Institute of Applied Mining-Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 1988. His main research focuses on synthesis, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and biological activity. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Bulgarian National Crystallographic Committee, and a member of the International Committee on Natural Zeolites, the Bulgarian Geological Society, and the Bulgarian Mineralogical Society.
