Prof. Junsan Zhao has a position as a professor and is currently working at the Faculty of Land Resource Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Kunming, China. He holds a bachelor’s degree in surveying and mapping engineering from Central South University of Technology, a master’s degree in surveying and mapping engineering from Kunming University of Science and Technology, and a doctorate in geodesy from Wuhan University. He was a lecturer and associate professor at the Faculty of Land and Resources Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, a senior engineer in the contract department of the Sino-foreign joint venture EJV at the Ertan Hydropower Station in Sichuan, and a senior engineer in the technical department of the Sino-foreign joint venture YRC at the Xiaolangdi Hydropower Station in Henan. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa and the University of Calgary in Canada and was an associate professor in the Department of Geography. His research areas mainly focus on theoretical research and technology development in geographic information science and technology, land and resources management and land and resources informatization, national land space planning, digital watersheds, and smart cities. He has presided over many national, Yunnan provincial, and Kunming municipal scientific research projects.
