Prof. (Dr.) Mahavir Singh currently serves as a Faculty at the Department of Physiology, and a Member of the Center for Predictive Medicine (CPM) for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY 40202, USA. He has 25+ years of experience in Biotechnology. As an inventor, he has developed patented technologies in the field of biomedical sciences. He is the former President of the Kentucky Physiological Society, and the Chair of Cell & Molecular Biology Section of the Kentucky Academy of Science. In the recent past, he has served both public and private organizations either as a dynamic CEO or the President or a board member. In his senior leadership role, Mahavir has successfully directed Drug Discovery and Development programs in Start-up, Mid-cap, and Large-cap Pharmaceuticals and Biotech companies and has widely published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored book chapters and has written invited reviews. Further, he is a federal grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is an active member in
the leading Societies/Associations such as the American Society for Virology (ASV), American Heart Association (AHA), American Physiological Society (APS), and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).
Prof. Suresh C. Tyagi currently serves as a Professor of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Louisville (Louisville, KY, USA), the Stodghill Endowed Chair in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Louisville, and the Vice Chair for Research, Physiology & Biophysics, University of Louisville. Dr. Tyagi’s research career began as a biophysical
scientist during his graduate and post-graduate training in India and Ireland.
He was an assistant professor of medicine and biochemistry at the University of
Missouri at Columbia (1992–1996) and an associate professor at the University
of Mississippi Medical Center (1998–2003). He has published in excellent
journals such as American J Physiology, Circulation, J Biol Chem, Biochemistry,
and various other biomedical science journals. Dr. Tyagi is a member of
honored societies such as the APS, ISHR, and AHA where he has served in various
capacities. He has served on NIH study section committees. Currently, he is a
regular member of the NIH-MIM study section. He is on the editorial board of
AJP, JMCC, Clin & Exper Hypertension, and Mol Cell Biochemistry. He has
numerous awards and honors from AHA and APS. He has been supported by national
funding throughout his research career. His research extends beyond the field
of remodeling and has implications in cancer, vascular dementias, and brain
microvascular diseases.
