Dimitrios-Rafail Kalompatsios received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Department of Chemistry, and a master's degree in Toxicology from the University of Thessaly, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. studies at the latter university, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, in the field of valorization of by-products in the food industry. He has served as an analyst in a chemistry and microbiology laboratory at a military unit and has participated in research projects on the monitoring of environmental and epidemiological parameters to which public health is exposed and the development of biofunctional mineral waters with the addition of extracts of industrial by-products.
