Prof. Dr. Cheng Yang graduated from Sichuan University in 1998 with a Ph.D. in polymer materials. He has been teaching at Jiangnan University since that year. He has served as the director of the Department of Applied Chemistry and the vice dean of the School of Chemistry and Materials Engineering. From February 2003 to February 2004, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Chemistry of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From March 2009 to March 2010, he was a visiting professor at the Whistler Carbohydrate Research Center of Purdue University in the United States. He is the deputy director of the Industry Expert Committee of the China Flavor and Fragrance Cosmetics Industry Association, the deputy director of the Cosmetics Efficacy Evaluation Professional Committee of the China Flavor and Fragrance Cosmetics Industry Association, and a member of the National Flavor and Fragrance Cosmetics Standardization Technical Committee. His research areas include the construction and application of encapsulation systems for bioactive substances and the design and process of cosmetic formulas.
