Prof. YuKun Cao obtained a bachelor's degree in Forestry Economics and Management in 1984 and a master's degree in 1987 and stayed on as a teacher the same year. In 1996, she was admitted to the first doctoral program in forestry economics and management. In 2000, she obtained a doctoral degree in management. In 2002 and 2007, she joined Harbin Engineering University and Beijing Forestry University's postdoctoral mobile station. She went to the ORT Forestry Training Center in Austria to study in 1998 and visited METLA in Finland from 2003 to 2004. She has served as a member of the evaluation team for the Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management discipline of the Degree Office of the State Council (2003–2008, 2008–2013), as well as the first Vice Chairman of the Forestry Policy and Regulations Committee of the China Forestry Economic Society. She was awarded the Outstanding Expert for Young and Middle-Aged People in Heilongjiang Province in 2008, the "Six One Batch" Theoretical Talents in the Propaganda and Culture System of Heilongjiang Province in 2009, the Special Professor for Scholars in Heilongjiang Province in 2010, and one Second Prize for Higher Education Teaching Achievements in Heilongjiang Province in 2013. Her research areas include human resources management and forestry.
