Annegrace Zembe is a Ph.D. holder in Science, specialising in Disaster Risk Science, from North-West University. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the African Center for Disaster Studies under the Unit for Environmental Sciences and Management at North-West University. Her research interests include climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, food security, early warning systems, and agricultural technology.
Livhuwani David Nemakonde is an Associate Professor in the School of Geo- and Spatial Sciences at North-West University. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Management and Development (Disaster Studies) from North-West University. He is currently the Chairperson of the Disaster Risk Science Scientific Committee in the Unit for Environmental Sciences and Management, and the Geography Subject Chair in the School of Geo- and Spatial Science. His research interests include disaster risk governance, climate change adaptation, systems thinking, and building community resilience.
Paul Chipangura is a Lecturer of Disaster Risk Management Modules at the Institute of Development Studies at the National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe. He is currently a senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the African Center for Disaster Studies under the Unit for Environmental Sciences and Management at North-West University. His research interests include disaster risk governance, community-based disaster risk management, disaster risk assessment, and building institutional capacities for disaster risk reduction.
Christo Coetzee is an Associate Professor in the School of Geo- and Spatial Sciences at North-West University. He holds a B.A. Hons, M.A., and Ph.D., and has expertise in disaster risk reduction, complex adaptive systems, urban disaster risk, and urbanization. He is currently a Researcher and Head of Training at the African Center for Disaster Studies.
Fortune Mangara is a distinguished scholar with a comprehensive academic background in Rural and Urban Planning. He earned his qualification from the University of Zimbabwe, followed by an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the esteemed North-West University. Currently, he serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the African Centre for Disaster Studies, housed within the School of Geo- and Spatial Sciences at North-West University. Dr Mangara's research expertise encompasses a wide spectrum of disciplines within urban planning and disaster studies, focusing on spatial and urban resilience, disaster risk governance, urban disaster risk, social and economic geography, urban policy, urban governance, transport planning and mobility, spatial transformations in African cities, and heritage planning and policy.
