Nan-Kai Wang, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmic Sciences at Columbia University. He also serves as a Consultant in Ophthalmology and leads a team dedicated to diagnosing inherited retinal dystrophy (IRD) at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Linkou Medical Center, Taiwan), where he previously served as an Associate Professor in Ophthalmology. Wang has published over 180 peer-reviewed articles on topics including retinal imaging, myopic maculopathy, inherited retinal dystrophy, electrophysiology, human and mouse genetics, and various medical and surgical retinal diseases. His research focuses on mitochondrial function in eye diseases using novel mouse models carrying human mutations.
