Jaume Gual has a PhD from the Universitat Poltècnica de Catalunya (Barcelon, Spain). He has been a professor at the Universitat Jaume I (Castelló, Spain) since 2001. His field of research began by focusing on public space, the configuration of its landscape, and the use of the urban elements. In this first stage, he received a research award (Accésit in the VI Premi de Investigació Consell Social de la UJI, 2003), for a team work on open spaces and elderly people. Subsequently, his concerns as a researcher have been directed toward Inclusive Design and Product Design for Healthcare, especially toward the usability of products by visually impaired people. In this sense, his contributions have been published in specialized journals and thematic books.
