Dr. Margaret E. Adamek received a BS in Social Work from the University of Dayton in 1982, a MSW in Gerontology from Washington University in 1983, and a PhD in Gerontology from Case Western Reserve University in 1989. She is the Director of the PhD Program at the Indiana University School of Social Work and Editor of the first open-access online social work journal, Advances in Social Work. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Ethiopia (2012-2013) and serves as a Visiting Professor at Addis Ababa University and the University of Gondar in Ethiopia. She is a founding board member of the Indiana Chapter of the Fulbright Association. Her research topics mainly include Global aging, aging in sub-Saharan Africa and Teaching scholarly writing.
