George Cristian Lazaroiu is a Professor with the Department of Power Systems, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, Romania. He graduated in 2002 in Power Systems Engineering for Energy at the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest, Romania with 9.86/10, and obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2006. He has been an assistant engineer, lecturer, and associate professor at the Department of EPower Systems, POLITEHNICA Bucharest from 2002 to 2020. Since 2015, he has held a national qualification in Energy Engineering. He was the General Co-Chair of the IEEE 16th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (ICHQP 2014) and the 2019 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Europe (ISGT-Europe). His research interests include energy systems development, smart cities, monitoring and control of power quality, electricity markets, and optimization of power systems.
