Author Biographies

Dr Catherine Lammert earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. She is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Texas Tech University. Since 2021, she has served as Anchor Faculty in undergraduate literacy teacher education, and since 2023 she has served as the Curator of the Sitton–Burkhart Reading Room. Prior to her appointment at Texas Tech University, she was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Iowa. Her work in teacher education has resulted in over 40 publications in journals such as Teaching and Teacher Education, Journal of Literacy Research, and Science Education. Currently, she is the Chair of the AERA SIG Action Research (#2) and the Chair of the National Council for Teachers of English ELATE Commission on Climate Justice, Inquiry, and Action. Broadly, her research focuses on the uses of field-based experiences, practice-based research, and interdisciplinary approaches in preservice teacher education.
