Dr. Mian Faisal Nazir is an Associate Researcher at the Lushan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangxi, China. He is a PhD in Plant Germplasm Resources from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing, China. His dissertation focused on the "Genomic insight into the genetic divergence and adaptive evolution of upland cotton." Dr. Nazir has expertise in plant breeding, statistical analysis, population genetics, and genome-wide association studies. He is actively engaged in the genetics and genomics of kiwifruit and Akebia to breed new resilient and high-quality varieties using molecular biology and transcriptomic approaches. Dr. Nazir recently led several research projects and has published numerous papers in various high-impact journals. His roles include serving on research societies and contributing to various research projects. His teaching disciplines cover biological sciences and crop sciences, with specific interests in population genetics, comparative genomics, plant domestication, and crop improvement.
