Marco Sangermano is Full Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino. He earned his Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Turin and later joined Politecnico di Torino as a PhD student. After graduating with his PhD in January 2000, he spent one year as a post-doc in Professor Crivello's labs at RPI in Troy, New York, USA. Following that, he spent three years as a Post-Doc in Politecnico di Torino's Materials Science Department before being appointed as Researcher-Assistant Professor in the same department starting in January 2004. In 2007, he was awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt grant, which allowed him to spend 6 months at IPF in Dresden, Germany. His primary areas of focus include photopolymerization, structure-properties relationships studies, tailoring formulations for achieving specific properties, surface modifications using fluorinated or silicone additives, and the preparation of nanostructured polymeric coatings.
