Anastasios Zavos received his Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Diploma from the University of Patras in 2012, and completed his doctoral dissertation on the topic «Tribological Design of a Top Coated Compression Ring» in 2018. His research interests include Tribology and Machine Design, and Machine Learning using Matlab and CAD/FEM. Currently, he is a Post-Doc Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras. His teaching activities include CAD and Sound Technology. He has won the Highly Commended Paper Award in Emerald Literati Network for Excellence 2016 and the Best Paper Award at the 2nd Virtual International Tribology Research Symposium (ITRS 2021).
Pantelis Nikolakopoulos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at the University of Patras, Greece. He graduated from the University of Patras in 1990 and received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. From 2004 to 2008, he served as an Engineer and project manager for the design and construction of energy power plants at the METKA S.A.He has been a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering since 2008. His current research interests are in the areas of tribology of machine elements, magneto/electrorheological fluids, active magnetic bearings, piston rings tribology, journal and floating ring bearings, transmissions, fault detection, and fatigue.
