Monica Fabiani is a professor of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Assistant Head for Faculty Development in the Psychology Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Psychophysiology from 2015 to 2023. She is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and the Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR), of which she was President in 2008. In 2019, she received the Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Psychophysiology, the highest honor granted by SPR. She has authored more than 200 publications, with continuous support from federal grants. Her research interests are in the cognitive neuroscience of human memory and aging, as well as in the development of tools for the non-invasive mapping of human brain function.
Gabriele Gratton received his M.D. from the University of Rome in 1980 and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1991. He is a professor in the Psychology Department and a full-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute Cognitive Neuroscience group. His field of interest is cognitive neuroscience. He previously worked as a President-Elect (2008-2009), a President (2009-20010), and a Past-President (2010-2011) of the Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR), and a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) (2006). He was awarded the SPR Early Career Contribution to Psychophysiology (1997) and the University of Missouri Provost Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creativity Award (2000). His interests are in cognitive neuroscience, specifically in the basic organization (spatial, temporal, and functional) of elementary cognitive processes such as those involved in sensory and working memories, attention, motor preparation, and strategy selection.
