Author Biographies

Dr. Tomy Acsente is now a Scientist 2nd Degree at the National Institute for Laser, Plasma, and Radiation Physics—NILPRP/INFLPR, working with the Research Group “Plasma Processes, Materials, and Surfaces” at INFLPR. In addition, he is a physicist by background (Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest), with his basic specialization being Electronic Physics (equivalent to MSc.). He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Optics, Spectroscopy, Lasers, and Plasma at the University of Bucharest in 2007. His research topics mainly include nanomaterials, plasma techniques, nanoparticles, carbon nanowalls, vapor transport, oxide deposition, hybrid nanomaterials, tungsten oxides and oxide sublimation.

Prof. Dr. Gheorghe Dinescu currently serves as a Senior Scientist 1st Degree (Research Director) at the National Institute for Laser, Plasma, and Radiation Physics—NILPRP/INFLPR, and is founder and leader of the Research Group “Plasma Processes, Materials, and Surfaces” at INFLPR and Professor and Ph.D. supervisor with the Doctoral School of Physics, University of Bucharest. A physicist by background (Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest), he has multidisciplinary education and experience, given by his studies in Biophysics (equivalent to MSc), and specialization in Optics, Spectroscopy, Lasers, and Plasma. He completed his Ph.D. degree at the University of Bucharest in 1987. His research interests mainly include plasma physics, plasma material processing, treatment of surfaces and thin films.
