Dr. Roger Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, School of Engineering, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Before joining Rutgers University, he was a lecturer at the University of Dundee, UK. He obtained his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Beihang University in 2007, his M.S. in Environmental Science from Nanyang Technological University/Stanford University Partnership in 2008, and his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014. He conducted postdoctoral research at MIT and the University of California Berkeley from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Wang’s research group is aimed at developing numerical models to connect big data and decision-making in civil and environmental engineering systems. His lab has a wide spectrum of research topics, including coastal resilience, urban floods, renewable energy, aquaculture, multiphase flows, nano-microfluidics, and water resources. He is a member of some scientific societies, such as the American Association of Geographers (AAG), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the American Physical Society (APS), and the International Association for Hydro-environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).
