Cheng Zhang is an Associate Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China. He received his bachelor's degree in Materials Chemistry from the Chinese University of Geosciences. He holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, followed by postdoctoral training at the HUST (2012–2014). He received an award from the Hubei Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2020. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Scientist Award by the Chinese Materials Research Society in 2019. He is a Huazhong Distinguished Scientist (2019). His research interests are metallic glasses; high-entropy alloys; additive manufacturing; coatings and thin films; and nanoporous metals.
