Fernando Ramos is an associate professor
with tenure in the pharmacy faculty at Coimbra University, Portugal. He is
responsible for nutrition, bromatology, hydrology, analytical chemistry, risk
assessment in food safety, and theoretical and lab courses for graduate and
master's students. He has also supervised postdoc, PhD, and MSc students in
nutrition, food, water analysis, and food safety subjects. He is also an
invited professor at the IPARAF (Intensive Program for Advanced Residue
Analysis in Food), Nantes, France, and at the ISCTEM (Institute for Science and
Technology of Mozambique). He is a senior researcher at REQUIMTE/LAQV and has
been a member of research teams of eighteen different research projects (two of
them still running), three as the PI and two of them at an international level,
involving other universities and other national and international research
institutions. He has collaborated with the EFSA, working on the elaboration of
scientific opinions. He is the vice-chair of the scientific committee of the
Portuguese Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE).
