Prof. Dr. Dmitri Simberg is a Professor and Co-Director of the Colorado Center for Nanomedicine and Nanosafety at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado at the Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2004, and he worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute and Department of Radiology, University of California, San Diego. He joined the University of Colorado as an Assistant Professor in 2013. His research interests include cells as carriers of drugs and diagnostics, immune recognition of nanoparticles, and the isolation of biomarkers and cells from bulk fluids.
Moein Moghimi is a Professor in Pharmaceutics and Nanomedicine at the School of Pharmacy, Translational and Clinical Research Institute, Newcastle University, and an Adjoint Professor at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado, Denver. He further serves as Editor-in-Chief of Drug Delivery (Taylor & Francis), and Associate Editor of Molecular Therapy (Cell Press). He is widely recognized for contributing to fundamental and translational research in nanomedicine and drug delivery. His earlier appointments have included the following: (1) Professor and Chair in Pharmaceutics at the School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health, Durham University, UK (2016–2017); (2) Full Affiliate Members/Professors at the Methodist Research Institute, Houston Methodist Hospital Systems Texas, USA (2013–2017); (3) Visiting Professor at Università Degli Studi Di Padova, Padova, Italy (2015); (4) Professor of Nanomedicine (at the Department of Pharmacy), Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (at the NanoScience Center) and Founder/Director of the Center for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology and Nanotoxicology University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2008–2016); and (5) Honorary Professor of Nanomedicine at the Multidisciplinary Research Center, Shantou University, China (2008–2010). He graduated with Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester in 1985 and completed a PhD in Biochemistry at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (Imperial College).
