Prof. Dr. Xiaolei Wu is a professor at the Department of Energy and Resources Engineering, College of Engineering, Peking University, Beijing, China. He is also the associate dean of the College of Engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1990 and a Ph.D. degree in 1995 from Tsinghua University. His main research focuses on molecular microbial ecology, microbial-enhanced oil recovery, environmental biotechnology, and bioenergy technology. In addition, he is the secretary of the Chinese Governing Board of the International Water Association and a member of the Japan Society on Water Environment and the American Society on Microbiology.
