Prof. Dr. Guangyuan is a Professor, Master’s Supervisor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Life Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He completed his Master’s studies in Botany at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and his PhD studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research is mainly focused on wheat crop quality gene isolation, protein and gene structure-function relationships related to crop quality, and gene expression regulation. His work yielded transgenic durum wheat that can correctly express exogenous quality genes for the first time, significantly improving gluten strength, and he proposed a model of the relationship between the molecular mechanism of wheat quality components and final product characteristics.
