Ana Belén Ramírez López (ORCID 0009-0000-4309-6848). Psychiatrist at the
Mexican Institute of Social Security. She completed a Specialty in Psychiatry
at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2024) and a Bachelor of
Medicine at the Autonomous Metropolitan University (2015). She began her
research in 2016, working as a staff physician in the Youth Integration Centers
(CIJ), and her clinical experience in psychiatry in 2020. Her research interests
include primary immunodeficiencies, which she developed during her internship at
the National Institute of Pediatrics. Dr. Ramirez is involved in psychiatric
clinical research, with an emphasis in neuropsychiatry and the social determinants
of health.
Yaneth Rodríguez-Agudelo (ORCID 0000-0003-0900-684X). Researcher in medical sciences at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery MVS. She completed a master’s degree in
neuropsychology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (1992) and a PhD
in biological and health sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (2008). Work
experience: From 1993 to date, she has been a researcher in medical sciences at
the National Institute of Neurology and is part of Mexico’s National System of
Researchers Level II. Her research interests include cognitive and quality-of-life repercussions in adult patients with neurological diagnoses, such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. She was awarded the Best PhD Thesis award granted by the Ministry of Health, Mexico (2008), an Academic Career Award granted by the UAM (2011), and an Academic Career Award granted by the Embassy of Colombia in Mexico (2023).
Francisco Paz-Rodríguez (ORCID 0000-0003-4424-7067).
Researcher in Medical Sciences at the National Institute of Neurology and
Neurosurgery. Francisco obtained his PhD in Psychology from the National
Autonomous University of Mexico (2005). He has 25 years of experience as a
researcher in the Laboratory of Clinical Neuropsychology, developing research
in social neuroscience and neurological diseases, in topics such as: gender-based
violence among women with neurological diseases, familial and vascular
dementia, stress and coping among caregivers of neurological patients, and organizational
behavior. Currently, his work is focused on assessing psychological distress
and the effects on social cognition, and the psychological dimension of
palliative care in terminal neurological diseases. He has been recognized and
invited to participate as an external evaluator of research
projects and peer-reviewed journals in his areas of expertise.
Silvia Aracely Tafoya (ORCID 0000-0001-6947-6822). Dr
Tafoya completed a BSc in Psychology with a specialization in Health
Psychology, a master's in General Experimental Psychology, and a Doctor
of Science in Public Mental Health. Her teaching activities include
coordinating research seminars in Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the
National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and in Psychology at the
Universidad Panamericana. She is a member of Mexico’s National Researchers
System, and her research interests include exploring the mental health of
university students, i.e., depression, stress, circadian rhythms, and sleep. Dr
Tafoya has published 35 papers in peer-reviewed national and international
journals, of which she is the main or corresponding author in 14. She is also a
coauthor of five book chapters.
Benjamin Guerrero López, MD heads the Department
of Psychiatry and Mental Health, Faculty of Medicine at UNAM. Under his
leadership, the department has tested and evaluated new mental health
interventions in telemedicine for the largest public campuses in Latin America, such as UNAM’s in Mexico City. His main research projects include: an NIMH published in JAMA Psychiatry, 2023: Benjet, C., Zainal, N. H., Albor, Y., Alvis-Barranco, L., Carrasco-Tapias, N., Contreras-Ibáñez, C. Dr. Guerrero holds a medical degree from UNAM and a specialty in Psychiatry from the National
Institute of Psychiatry “Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz”, with a current certification by the Mexican Council of Psychiatry. He completed two years of specialization in Internal Medicine at the Manuel Gea González Hospital, has a diploma in Management, completed a master’s degree in Postgraduate Medical Sciences at the UNAM Faculty of Medicine, and holds a master’s degree in
Psychoanalysis from the Mexican Institute of Medicine. His teaching activities include Introduction to Mental Health and Medical Psychology, Biomedical Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, UNAM, as well as several mental health topics in the school of continuing studies.
Claudia Díaz Olavarrieta, PhD ( ORCID 0000-0002-6964-4109) es doctora en ciencias médicas por la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), su tesis de maestría sobre la hipótesis colinérgica de la Enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA ) se llevó a cabo en el Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía de México. Completó una licenciatura en la Universidad de Toronto (1988). Antes de incorporarse a la UNAM Claudia fue investigadora titular del Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública, también trabajó en la división de investigaciones del Instituto Nacional de Neurología trabajando con personas mayores. Se desempeñó como Directora Nacional de la Oficina de México del Consejo de Población. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Miembro de la Academia Nacional de Medicina de México y actualmente se encuentra afiliada como investigadora titular del Departamento de Psiquiatría y Salud Mental de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM.
