Dr. Olusegun F. Jonah is a Research
Engineer at the SRI International Geospace Group, Menlo Park,
CA, USA. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees in Space
Geophysics from the National Institute of Space Research (INPE), Brazil. He
worked briefly as an Associate Research Scientist at the INPE aeronomy division,
as a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Haystack Observatory, and later as a
Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Jet Proportion Laboratory. His special interests are
atmospheric coupling, ionospheric disturbances (such as Gravity waves, TIDs,
and TADs), and their generating sources utilizing AIML, physics-based models,
and measurements from different ground-based and space-borne measurements.
Dr. Clezio M. Denardini serves as a Director at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE),
São José dos Campos, Brazil, where he was the General Manager of the Embrace
Program (the Brazilian Studies and Monitoring of Space Weather) between 2012
and 2018, the General Coordinator for Space and Atmospheric Sciences between
2018 and 2020, and the General Coordinator for Infrastructure and Applied
Research throughout 2020. He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering in
1996 from the Federal University of Santa Maria and a Ph.D. in Space Geophysics
in 2003 from the INPE. His research focuses on space weather. He served as
president of the Brazilian Society of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy (SBGEA)
between 2013 and 2016 and vice president and then president of the Latin
American Association of Space Geophysics (ALAGE) between 2018 and 2022. He also
served as deputy director of the International Space Environment Service (ISES)
between 2016 and 2019. He was appointed as the Brazilian representative at the WMO Inter-Programme Team on Space Weather Information, Systems, and Services (IPT-SWeISS), and as a member of the Space Weather Expert Group of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space until 2022. He has obtained 16 scientific awards as an author, supervisor, reviewer, and editor of international journals. Besides, he was decorated with 3 other Regional and National awards for his services to the Country.
