Dr. Elena Bertelli is a Radiologist in the Department of Radiology at Careggi University Hospital in Florence, Italy. She completed a PhD in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Pisa (with excellent judgment). She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Uro-Oncology, an Adviser for the Urogenital Section of the Italian Society of Radiology (SIRM) and a member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR). She is a member of the Scientific Editorial Board of the journals "European Radiology Experimental" (Urogenital and Fetal Section) and "La Radiologia Medica". Her main academic interests are urologic oncology; in particular, kidney and prostate cancer; contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Chiara Marzi is a Junior Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics, Computer Science and Applications "Giuseppe Parenti", University of Florence. She graduated in Biomedical Engineering MS (cum laude) in 2016 from the University of Bologna, she obtained her PhD in Biomedical, Electrical and Systems Engineering (IBES) in 2020 (with excellent judgment). From April 2020 to March 2021, she was a research fellow at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli," Department of Advanced Medical and Surgical Sciences. From April 2021 to December 2022, she became a research fellow at the Institute of Applied Physics "Nello Carrara" (IFAC) - National Research Council. Since 2016, she has been an IEEE member and affiliate of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. She is the Winner of "Alberto Mazzoldi" Doctoral Award, University of Pisa, conferred by the National Bioengineering Group 2020. Her research interests mainly focus on medical imaging and machine learning using medical data. She is involved in research projects for the development and application of computational methods for the analysis of functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, MR and computed tomography (CT) images of the prostate, stomach, intestine, lung and kidney.
