Sarakham, Thailand. She received her Bachelor's degree in Plant Production
Technology from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Ladkrabang,
Thailand, in 1990, her Master's degree in Botany from Chulalongkorn University,
Bangkok, Thailand, in 1995, and her Doctoral degree in Biotechnology, Khon
Kaen, Thailand, in 2006. She has worked as a researcher and lecturer at
Mahasarakham University since 1997. Her research activities focus on plant
biodiversity and plant tissue culture. She has been a member of Thailand's
Science and Technology Society.
Prof. Dr. Pornthap Thanonkeo is an Associate Professor in
the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University,
Thailand. He received his Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences from the
Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, Bangpra Campus, Chonburi,
Thailand, in 1991, his Master's degree in Biotechnology from Chulalongkorn
University, Bangkok, Thailand, in 1995, and his Doctoral degree in Molecular
Biology from Ehime University, Ehime, Japan, in 2000. He has worked as a
lecturer and researcher at Khon Kaen University since 1996. His research
activities focus on the exploration and utilization of thermotolerant yeasts and
bacteria for ethanol and alcoholic beverage production, the application of
genetic manipulation for strain improvement, and the micropropagation and
production of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants in Thailand. He has
been a member of Thailand's Science and Technology Society and the Asian
Society of Natural Products.
Prof. Dr. Preekamol Klanrit is currently an Associate
Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology at Khon
Kaen University in Khon Kaen, Thailand. She received her Bachelor’s degree with
Distinction in Botany from The University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and a
Doctoral degree in Plant Molecular Biology from Purdue University, Indiana,
USA. She has been working as a lecturer and researcher since 2006. Her research
activities are currently two-fold: the first research theme is to explore the
genetic manipulation of bacteria for ethanol production using agricultural raw materials
in Thailand, and the second research theme she is pursuing is focused on plant
micropropagation and bioactive compound production from callus and cell
suspension cultures of Thai medicinal plants. She has been a member of the Thai
Society of Biotechnology, Thailand since 2006.
