Viorel Gligor is a lecturer and PhD at the Faculty of Geography
at "Babeș-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca and the deputy director
of the Research Center for Territorial Identities and Development at the same
university. His main areas of interest for current research include landscape
and identity heritage analysis, applied geomorphology in territorial planning
and development, GIS applied in territorial planning, and integrated analyses
of territorial systems. His scientific concerns to date also include the
investigation of synthetic territorial relationships that define the dynamics
of mountain systems, regional planning and sustainable development, the
evaluation of territorial vulnerability to natural risk processes, digital
mapping, the spatialization of geographic information, and performing
relational operations on various data structures. Since 2002, he has been a
member of the Romanian Society of Geography, and since 2021, he has been the
executive editor of the Journal of Montology, a publication of the Mountain
Economy Center / "Costin C. Kirițescu" National Institute of Economic
Research (INCE) of the Romanian Academy. He has published several articles in
international journals (Journal of Urban History, Fennia, Annals of the
Austrian Geographical Society, etc.), participated in numerous scientific
conferences, and has been part of various research teams within projects.
Emanuela-Adina
Nicula is a Research Scientist
and PhD Eng. at the Mountain Economy Center/
“Costin C. Kirițescu” National Institute for Economic Research of the Romanian
Academy. Her major interests for curent research are
focused on environmental protection, sustainable development, circular bioeconomy,
geography of waste, environmental
geography and waste management. Since 2021, she has served as an
executive editor on the editorial board of the Journal of Montology, a
publication of the Mountain Economy Center / "Costin C. Kirițescu"
National Institute of Economic Research (INCE), Romanian Academy. Previous work has appeared
in journals such as Environmental Engineering and Management Journal, Journal
of Urban History, Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia.
Remus Cretan is Professor of Human Geography at West
University of Timisoara, Romania. Remus Cretan's recent works include regional,
urban, and rural geographies, more specifically he has studied geographies of
inequality (e.g. social marginalization and social risk) and issues connected
to political ecology and development studies. Previous work has appeared in journals such as
Environmental Politics, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research,
Urban Geography, Cities, Area, and Identities.
