Reginaldo Barbosa Nunes was born in Vitória/ES, Brazil, in 1964. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering, an Expert degree in computer networks, and an M.S. in computers from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Vitória, Brazil, in 1989, 1999, and 2003, respectively. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and is involved in research and development in optical communications, specifically in passive optical networks, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, and Medium Access Control. He joined the Department of Computer Science in 1997, and in 2008, he was transferred to the Department of Electrical Engineering from the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes), Vitória, Brazil. He was the coordinator of several research projects and a research member of many others, with a special highlight on the "Electrical Mobility in the Espírito Santo" project.
