Andrew R Flannery is the Chief Scientist of Biotechnology at Smiths Detection Inc., and is responsible for leading an international team of scientists developing next-generation biological detection technologies. He obtained his BS in Chemical Engineering and MS in Veterinary Sciences/Genetics from the University of Kentucky and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon. He is proficient in Product Management, Cell Engineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Protein Engineering. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine, a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, and the VP of Product Development at PathSensors, Inc. He has over 15 years of experience in planning, organizing, and conducting health-related research as exemplified by funding and publication history.
