Dr. Daniel Boari Coelho holds a master's degree in biomedical engineering and a Ph.D. in neuroscience. He worked as a bioengineer at the largest public hospital in Latin America in the area of orthosis and prosthesis. He was a research assistant in a motor control laboratory at the University of São Paulo. He is currently a professor of biomedical engineering at the Federal University of ABC, Santo André, Brazil. He seeks to understand the gait and posture of people with movement disorders, especially Parkinson's disease. Both in the biomechanical and neural aspects.
Dr. Luis Augusto Teixeira holds a degree in physical education from the University of São Paulo (1983), a master's in movement sciences from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1988), a PhD in physical education from the University of São Paulo (1995) and a post-doc at Simon Fraser University, Canada (1996). He was a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada (2004) and a visiting professor at Paris-Sud XI University, France (2008). He is currently an associate professor at the University of São Paulo, heading the Human Motor Systems Laboratory. He has developed scientific activities in the areas of motor behavior, with an emphasis on laterality, postural control, and aging.
