Dr. Long Jiang is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, School of Energy and Power Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He graduated from the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in December 2013 with a PhD in Thermal Engineering. From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Clean Combustion Research Center of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. He has presided over seven national and provincial research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program Young Scientist Project, the National Natural Science Foundation General Project, the Youth Project, and the National Key Research and Development Program Sub-Project. He has published more than 30 high-level journal papers as the first or corresponding author of his research results. His main research interests include efficient and clean conversion of biomass waste into hydrogen/biofuels, new power cycles, and intelligent flexible power generation.
Prof. Song Hu is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, School of Energy and Power Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is also the director of the China–Europe Clean and Renewable Energy Academy Research Center and vice chairman of the Wuhan Hongshan District Science and Technology Association. In 2002, he received his PhD in Thermal Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. From 2002 to 2004, he conducted postdoctoral research at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2013, he was selected into the New Century Talent Program of the Ministry of Education and received funding from the Hubei Outstanding Youth Fund in the same year. He was selected as a person who made positive contributions to the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe in 2015 and was selected as an Outstanding Young Scientist in China and Australia in 2017 by the Ministry of Science and Technology. His main research directions are biomass thermal reaction mechanism and new application technology, traditional fossil energy, efficient and clean reaction mechanism and application technology, resource utilization of various renewable energy sources, and high-value conversion of biomass-based carbon materials.
