Gilad Naveh (MSc) is a graduate of the Nutritional Sciences Master's program at the Nutritional Sciences Department, Tel-Hai Academic College, Israel. Findings from his Master's thesis were presented at the 10th International Conference on Nutrition and Growth (2023), held in London, the UK. He is also a registered clinical dietitian (MSc, R.D.), with a focus on dietary management for intensive-care inpatients. He currently works as an ICU dietitian in the Tzafon Medical Center, Poriya, Israel.
Bshara Mansour received his medical doctor (MD) degree from the University of Gabrielle D’Annunzio in Chieti, Italy in 2007 and a Master's degree in health administration (MHA) in 2009 from Bar-Ilan University. He is a specialist in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and a former director of the pediatric emergency department and pediatric nephrology service at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital in Nazareth, Israel (2017–2021). In 2021, he moved to the USA, where he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in nephrogenetics at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School (2021–2024). His research topics include energy drinks and their effects on children and adolescent health and genetic diseases of the kidney. His research work has resulted in different publications and several presentations at national and international conferences.
Mahmoud Bader received his medical doctor degree from the University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan in 2012. In 2014, he completed a one-year internship at the Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, Israel. From 2016 to 2021, he served as a resident in pediatrics at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Nazareth, Israel. Currently, he works as a general pediatrician at Maccabi Healthcare in two clinics in the city of Tiberias in Israel.
Rafi Steckler earned a BSc in Nutrition Sciences (2005) from Tel Hai Academic College, an MSc in Biotechnology (2016) from Tel Hai Academic College, and a PhD in Medical Sciences (2023) from the Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland. He is currently a Lecturer in the Nutritional Sciences Department at Tel Hai Academic College and a registered clinical dietitian (PhD, R.D.). He consults on CKD as a dietitian at Clalit HMO. His work on circadian rhythms has resulted in two publications, several presentations, and lectures. His current research interests focus on the mechanisms underlying the microbiome in ADHD patients and his expertise in analytic chemistry and data analysis.
Elias Nasrallah (M.D.) received his medical doctor (MD) degree from the University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan in 2014. In 2015, he completed a one-year internship at Galilee Medical Center, Nahariya, Israel. In 2021, he completed a residency in pediatrics at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Nazareth, Israel. In 2024, he completed a clinical fellowship in infectious diseases at Rambam Medical Center, Haifa, Israel. Currently, he works as an attending pediatrician and director of the pediatric infectious diseases service at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Nazareth, Israel. His research topics include energy drinks and their effects on children and adolescent health and infectious diseases in children. His research work has resulted in different publications and several presentations at national and international conferences.
Hamed Hujeyrat (MD) received his medical doctor degree in 2016 from the University of Sassari, Sicily, Italy. In 2018, he completed a one-year internship at Barzelai Medical Center in Ashkelon, Israel. Currently, he is a resident in pediatrics at the pediatric department at Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Nazareth, Israel, where he has been working since 2019.
Faiga Magzal earned a BSc in Food Engineering from the Maua Institute of Technology in 1993 and a PhD in Medical Sciences from Bar-Ilan University in 2017. She is now a Senior Researcher at the MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Human Health. Her work in medical sciences and nutrition has resulted in numerous publications, presentations, lectures, and courses; memberships, including her post as a Review Editor in Gut-Brain Axis at the Frontiers in Neuroscience Journal, and Co-editor roles in special issues in renowned journals; and awards, including the Scholarship of Excellence for doctoral students of the Arab society and minorities from the Council for Higher Education. Her research interests include gut microbiota, diet, mental health, and the gut–brain axis.
Nael Elias (MD, MBA, MHA, MPH) graduated from Hadassah Medical School (the Hebrew University in Jerusalem). He is a specialist in pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology who completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at a hospital for sick children in Toronto. He is a former chief of the pediatric department. Currently, he is the general director of Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital, Nazareth, Israel. He earned Master’s degrees in health administration, in public health, and in Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University and Tel Aviv University. His area of interest in research includes asthma in children and energy drinks. He is an associate professor in pediatrics at Bar-Ilan University. His research work has resulted in different publications and several presentations at national and international conferences.
Omer Horovitz earned a BA in Psychology (2007), an MA in Psychobiology (2010), and a PhD in Neurobiology (2014). He is now a senior lecturer, the physiology and behavior laboratory director, and the head of the Psychology Department at Tel-Hai Academic College, Israel. His work in the field has resulted in tens of publications, presentations, and lectures. He teaches multiple courses. He is a member of the Israeli Psychobiology Association and the Nutritional Psychology Association and a full member of the Sigma XI Honour Society. His research interest is in behavioral neuroscience clinical research across the lifespan. His research is devoted to untangling the interplay between nutrition and affective disorders using psychophysiological, behavioral, and neural methods.
Lili Nimri earned a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Nutritional Sciences from the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She completed her postdoctoral research at the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, in 2019. She is now a Lecturer at the Nutritional Sciences Department, Tel-Hai Academic College, Israel and a registered clinical dietitian (PhD, R.D.). Her work in basic science in nutrition has resulted in several publications, presentations, and lectures at national and international conferences. Recently, she presented her work on energy drinks at the 10th International Conference on Nutrition and Growth (2023) in London, the UK. She has received several grants for excellence, including the Ariane de Rothschild Scholarship for excellent PhD female students, Planning and Budgeting Committee Scholarship for excellent PhD students from the Arab society in Israel, and the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation Prize in Life Science and Medicine. She teaches multiple courses. Her expertise lies in research, treatment, and interventions for maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition. Her research areas include nutritional psychology, the gut–brain axis, metabolism, pediatric and maternal nutrition, adolescent nutrition, healthy guided nutritional education, diet-mental health, and personalized science-based nutrition.
