Kathryn M. Burke is Associate Director at
the Institute on Disabilities and Assistant Professor of Research in the
Department of Teaching and Learning at Temple University. She received her
doctoral degree from the University of Kansas in Special Education with a Minor
in Research Design and Analysis. She was formerly an elementary special education teacher in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Karrie A. Shogren is a Director of the Kansas University
Center on Developmental Disabilities, Senior Scientist at the Schiefelbusch
Life Span Institute, and Ross and Marianna Beach Distinguished Professor in the
Department of Special Education, all at the University of Kansas. She is a
Fellow of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental
Disabilities and the American Psychological Association. She completed
bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology at Ohio State University and the
University of Dayton, respectively. She received her doctoral degree at the
University of Kansas. She has won the Council for Exceptional Children's
Division for Research Distinguished Early Career Research Award and the
American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Early
Career Award.
