Author Biographies

Ioannis Zervas holds a BSc from the Department of Business Administration of the University of Macedonia, an M.A. in Politics and Economy of Southeast Europe from the department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies of the University of Macedonia, an M.Sc in Human Resources Management from the department of Management Science and Technology of the University of Western Macedonia, and he is Ph.D candidate of the Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia in the thematic area of the digital divide and skills. Since 2007, Ioannis Zervas has gained significant experience in post-secondary education in the subject of Administration and Economics. He has taught in more than six special thematic seminars implemented within the framework of Erasmus Plus in Key Action 1 and 2. He has five years of experience in the implementation of EU Projects related to levels of non-formal education. At the same time, he works as a freelancer in the implementation of European projects related to the management and development (coaching and mentoring) of human resources from companies belonging to the private sector of the economy. His research interests are related to the investigation of the digital divide due to the lack of digital skills in human resources. He also deals with the modern trends of the digital economy and its effects on human resources.
Emmanouil Stiakakis is a professor of digital economics at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK, and a PhD in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia, Greece. His research has been published in a lot of international journals and conference proceedings (he is the author of four books, as well). He has been a guest editor and member of the editorial board of well-known journals. His research interests include the digital divide, digital competence, the implications of digital technologies for the environment, and digital currencies.
Ioannis Athanasiadis is a PhD candidate at the University of Macedonia in the interdisciplinary program of Information Systems with the subject “Research of statistical machine learning models with open source information systems”, under the supervision of Prof. L. Tsoulfidis. He obtained his postgraduate degree in Information Systems from the University of Macedonia (Master in Information Systems) (grade 9.38 -Excellent) (2001) and his Bsc from the University of Palermo, Italy, in Applied Mathematics (Diploma with grade (7.61/10) (1990)). Regarding his career, from 26/9/2018 to date he has been part of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) at the Department of Economics, University of Macedonia, in the courses Statistics I, II, and III (Analysis of Time Series). From 23/7/2003 to 3/3/2017, he was a member of the Special Technical Laboratory Information Staff (ETEP) in the Computer and Network Center of the University of Macedonia, responsible for the Internet domain (Website), and in the Department of Economics from 03/03/2017 to 26 / 9/2018. His research interests include data statistical analysis, machine learning methods, neural networks, R language, algorithmic research, and mathematical research.
Dr. Georgios Tsekouropoulos is an assistant professor in the department of Organizational Management, Marketing and Tourism in the International Hellenic University. He is a member of the research facility “Marketing and Business Administration and Organizations" of the relative department of the University. He holds a degree in Accounting, as well as in Business Administration and Organizations from the Macedonia University, Greece. His postgraduate degree is in “Agricultural Economy” and his PhD concerns “Consumer’s Behavior”—both from Aristotle University, Greece. He has been a researcher in Greek and international research centers. His scientific interests concern the field of marketing and consumer’s behavior as well as management and entrepreneurship. He has been an author of many issues in international journals and convention records and has been a judge of book chapters and scientific volumes. Additionally, he is a member of the scientific and organizational committee of international conventions in the field of marketing, consumer’s behavior, tourism, and entrepreneurship. He is also an editor of scientific articles in distinguished editions of journals published in the scientific field mentioned. He participates in European and Greek projects as a member of a wider research team. He cooperates with Emerald, Interscience, and Elsevier as a judge of scientific articles.
