I am a dedicated researcher with a background in sociology and statistics, currently focusing on sustainable mobility and sustainable tourism. I earned a degree in Sociology, followed by a specialised master's in official statistics. This interdisciplinary foundation has been pivotal in shaping a robust approach to researching and promoting sustainable practices. Currently, I serve as a research assistant at SUPSI. In this role, I lead and contribute to numerous projects aimed at advancing sustainable mobility and tourism. My work involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including academic peers, industry professionals, and policymakers, to develop innovative solutions that promote environmental sustainability and enhance the quality of life.

I deal with renewable energy, energy potentials, and energy policies on a municipal and regional scale. I perform statistical analyses in the field of energy, with a special interest in renewable energy data and trends, in combination with spatial analyses with geographic information systems (GISs). I carry out evaluations in the field of emissions and support institutions in this area. My education in natural sciences (bachelor's and master's) and subsequent doctorate in earth sciences give me an environmental and ecological view of resources for the exploitation of energy potentials.

A researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Francesca Cellina has a background in both environmental engineering (Master of Science degree) and social sciences (PhD degree). She performs trans-disciplinary research activities to foster the transition towards a low-carbon sand energy-sufficient society, particularly in the domains of mobility and household energy consumption. She exploits ICT tools and devices in participatory, living lab processes that leverage co-creation and co-design methodologies to engage individuals and stakeholders in real-life interventions aimed at triggering societal transitions.
