Krassimir Panajotov received the B.S., Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees in physics from Sofia University, Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1982, 1988, and 2002, respectively. Since 1982, he has been appointed at the Institute of Solid-State Physics (ISSP), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as a full professor since 2005. Since 2005 he has been a 10$\%$ ZAP (full professor) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. His research activities are in nonlinear optics, semiconductor lasers, photonic crystal devices, nonlinear semiconductor laser dynamics and optical solitons. In these fields, he holds more than 230 SCI-stated journal papers, more than 200 publications in international conference proceedings and nine book chapters.
