Dr. Talavera has been a Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Murcia since 2000. His academic profile is highly technical, influenced by his dedication to clinical veterinary care, which forms the basis of his teaching and research. At the UMU Teaching Hospital, he specializes in cardiorespiratory medicine, handling complex cases referred by other veterinarians. He has developed advanced skills in echocardiography, lung ultrasound, electrocardiography, Holter monitoring, ultrasound-guided sampling, respiratory endoscopy, and diagnostic and therapeutic fluoroscopy, and he collaborates in interventional cardiology. His teaching and research focus on clinical cardiopneumology, promoting and participating in various studies, and supporting Doctoral theses and final projects for Bachelor's and Master's degrees. As a teacher, he has a strong vocational drive and an innovative profile, regularly participating in courses, workshops, and innovation congresses and leading teaching innovation projects. He is the Coordinator of a Teaching Innovation Group and has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as student mentoring. In university management, he has coordinated undergraduate and Master's courses and participated in various committees. He has been a coordinator of Doctorate and Master's programs and is currently the Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Clinical Services, Research, and Innovation.
