Author Biographies

Dr. Paolo Modesti is a senior lecturer in Cybersecurity at the School of Computing, Engineering, and Digital Technologies at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Ca’ Foscari University Venice, Italy, an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Udine, Italy, and a PGCert in Academic Practice from the University of Sunderland, UK. Before joining Teesside University, he worked as a lecturer at the University of Sunderland, and as a post-doctoral research associate at Newcastle University where he contributed to the EU FutureID project. He has been a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Denmark and Telcordia Technologies (USA). He has also worked as a teacher of Computer Science for the Italian Ministry of Education, as an IT senior officer for the Italian Revenue Agency, and as an IT security advisor for the European Union CAFAO mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His main research interests are languages and tools for security and applied formal methods for security.

Dr. Chidimma Opara earned her BTech degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2010 from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria, and an MSc in Networks and Information Security in 2015 from Kingston University, London. In 2023, she completed her PhD at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, where she was granted a scholarship for doctoral research by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund. During her PhD studies at Teesside University, she worked as a part-time lecturer from 2019 to 2021. Between 2021 and 2023, she served as a product manager at one of the top five banks in Canada. She then joined Teesside University as a full-time staff member in 2023. At Teesside University, she has taught a variety of modules within the computing program. She holds professional memberships with the British Computer Society (MBCS) and actively engages in research, with several peer-reviewed publications in journals and conferences.
