Prof. Dr. Benjamin Craig McLellan has been at Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Energy Science since 2010. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) in May 2007. He served as a Research Fellow at the Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland, from July 2009 to July 2010. His research is in sustainability broadly, with a focus on industrial ecology and the lifecycle implications of energy technologies and sustainability in the
minerals sector. He has experience in energy modeling and the nexus of energy systems with various other resource systems. Currently, his research interest is in the resources–energy nexus and critical minerals, deep-sea mining, and just energy and resource transitions.
