Dr. Ibraheem Ashankyty is Associate Professor of Hematology at KAU's Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences (FAMS), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has an impressive academic background, including a Doctorate in Medical Technology from The Catholic University of America's School of Art and Science, Department of Biology. He also received a Master's in Allied Health Education from the University of Kentucky (UK) College of Allied Health Professions in Lexington, KY. The Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences at KAU awarded him a Bachelor's in Medical Technology. Academically skilled, Dr. Ashankyty has held several academic leadership roles. He headed the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, FAMS, KAU, and was then Vice Dean for Applied Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and Vice Rector at the University of Ha'il. Dr. Ashankyty founded and advanced medical and applied medical institutions, including medical colleges in several Saudi universities. Along with medical facilities, he served on the Committee for "Establishing Gazan University Hospital", and has guided KAU's Sports Committee, demonstrating his passion for sports. He also established molecular diagnostics at KAUH in 2001. Dr. Ashankyty has conducted extensive research and technical laboratory work and has more than 40 published papers. In academia and the clinical lab, he is renowned for his leadership, hematology, molecular diagnostics, and academic skills.
