Dr. Peter Stemmermann is currently the Head of the Department of Technical Mineralogy, Institute of Technical Chemistry, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the Mineralogical Institute, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 1992. He won the Brunauer Prize in 2009, the German Material Efficiency Award in 2010, the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Award in 2011, and the German Innovation Award for Climate and Environment in 2011. He is also the founding partner of Celitement GmbH, from 2009 to 2020. His research interests include building material cycle, CO2 management, energy-efficient processes, isochemical cements, hydrothermal processes, RC cement clinker, and CO2 capture in building materials.
