Dr. Gar Yee Koh is an Assistant Professor at the School of
Family and Consumer Sciences, Texas State University. She holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Nutritional Sciences and a Master’s in Forestry from Louisiana State
University. She then completed a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from Iowa State
University (ISU). Dr. Gar Yee Koh had postdoctoral training in the Jean Mayer
USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (Tufts University) in 2015–2019
and the Citrus Research and Education Center (University of Florida) in 2019–2020.
Her research interests include Gut microbiome and metabolic health, Prebiotic
and probiotic, Dietary fiber and vitamin D metabolism, Colorectal cancer
prevention, and Obesity and gut inflammation.
