Prof. Dr. Napoleon Waszkiewicz works at the Medical University of Bialystok. He is a specialist in psychiatry and is the head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of Białystok in Poland, and the president of the Podlasie branch of the Polish Psychiatric Association. His scientific interests include research on the effects of psychoactive substances on the body and the search for addiction biomarkers (especially in the saliva), biochemistry in affective, psychotic, anxiety, substance-related and metabolic disorders, as well as research on mental disorders in the aspect of changes in neuroimaging, neurophysiological, neuropsychological, biochemical, metabolic, genetic and hormonal changes.
