Chenghua Xu is currently the dean of the School of Resources and Environment at Chengdu University of Information Technology. He graduated from the Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a Ph.D. in July 2001. From 2002 to 2003, he was employed as an International Researcher by the Korea Institute of Chemistry with funding from KISTEP. He is leading several projects, including a study on catalysts and processes for producing methanol from greenhouse gas carbon dioxide hydrogenation and the development of an acetylation catalyst for producing 1,4-butanediol by the acetylenic aldehyde process. His research keywords include catalysis in the environment, air pollution control, and catalytic technology.
