He was a farmer until he was 18 years old. He graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from UFES (2002). Master's and Doctorate in Plant Production from UENF (2004/2008), with part of the doctorate carried out in Portugal. Experience in the area of ​​Phytotechnics and Improvement, with an emphasis on Conilon coffee cultivation. He is an Associate Professor at UFES. He published 120 scientific articles indexed in the Web Science database, with an h-index of 20 (until March 2024). He issues Ad-hoc opinions for Foundations and various national and international journals. He is a master's and doctorate advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Tropical Agriculture and Genetics and Breeding. He was coordinator of PPGAT / UFES (2014 to 2018) and Director of Research at UFES (2018 to 2024). He was a general organizer of the 1st to 12th Conilon Producer Symposium and the 1st Symposium on Research and Technologies in Coffea canephora. CNPq Productivity Scholarship, level 1B.

He has a degree as an Agricultural Engineer from the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences (Plant Physiology) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1991) and a PhD in Plant Production from the State University of Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (1999). He has experience in the area of ​​Agronomy, with an emphasis on Seed Production and Technology, working mainly on the following topics: seeds, germination, seedlings and seed storage. He is currently an Associate Professor I at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro. He was the CNPq Productivity Scholarship and FAPERJ Scientist of Our State 2022.
