He was a farmer until he was 18 years old. He graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from UFES (2002). Master's and Doctorate in Plant Production from UENF (2004/2008), with part of the doctorate carried out in Portugal. Experience in the area of Phytotechnics and Improvement, with an emphasis on Conilon coffee cultivation. He is an Associate Professor at UFES. He published 120 scientific articles indexed in the Web Science database, with an h-index of 20 (until March 2024). He issues Ad-hoc opinions for Foundations and various national and international journals. He is a master's and doctorate advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Tropical Agriculture and Genetics and Breeding. He was coordinator of PPGAT / UFES (2014 to 2018) and Director of Research at UFES (2018 to 2024). He was a general organizer of the 1st to 12th Conilon Producer Symposium and the 1st Symposium on Research and Technologies in Coffea canephora. CNPq Productivity Scholarship, level 1B.
He has a degree as an Agricultural Engineer from the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences (Plant Physiology) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1991) and a PhD in Plant Production from the State University of Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (1999). He has experience in the area of Agronomy, with an emphasis on Seed Production and Technology, working mainly on the following topics: seeds, germination, seedlings and seed storage. He is currently an Associate Professor I at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro. He was the CNPq Productivity Scholarship and FAPERJ Scientist of Our State 2022.
