Prof. Peng Lu received his Bachelor’s and PhD degrees in port, waterway, and coastal engineering at Dalian University of Technology in 2002 and 2007, respectively. He is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Dalian University of Technology, winner of the Excellent Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is now a member of the Ice Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) and a member of the fourth and fifth executive committees of the IAHR China chapter. He is mainly engaged in scientific research in the field of polar sea ice. He took charge of over nine NSFC projects, including one science fund for outstanding young people and three general projects. As the main completion person, he participated in the research work of the National Major Scientific Research Plan, National Science and Technology Support Plan, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and so on.
Dr. Qingkai Wang is an Associate Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He received his Bachelor’s and PhD degrees at Dalian University of Technology in 2013 and 2019, respectively. He conducts scientific research around polar sea ice engineering parameters, and his research interests include but are not limited to polar sea ice variability, sea ice physical and mechanical properties, sea ice observation, and experimental techniques.
Prof. Zhijun Li received his Bachelor’s degree at the Hebei College of Geology in 1982 and his Master’s degree at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1985. He completed his PhD studies at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997. His professorial research fields are ice physics and mechanics, ice engineering and polar technology. He is also the Chairman of the Ice Engineering Branch of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society.
